Requirements for Power of Attorney in Pakistan

• 2 - 4 passport sized photographs
• Stamped paper (cost varies depending on PoA type, typically Rs. 500 - 1,000)

Where can you get a Power of Attorney made?

In Pakistan:

To create and register a PoA you must go to a notary public, a civil court, or a registered stamp seller, where they will draft and register the PoA, including, if appropriate:

• If a property is sold it must be registered with the sub-Registrar Office
• It must be executed in front of witnesses (i.e. parties). Sign it in front of two witnesses
• It must be verified with thumb impression and CNIC

From overseas:

If you are outside of Pakistan, you can:

• Draft the PoA and sign it at the nearest Pakistan Embassy / Consulate
• Notarize and legalize it / receive apostille in that country, in accordance with the country rules
• Send the signed PoA to Pakistan by Courier
• Your attorney or family member will then be able to submit it to MOFA / local registrar (if required)
