The academic transcript contains all the subjects and grades indicated in the degree issued by Pakistan, and therefore, many employers, universities, and immigration agencies in the UAE require that the transcript is attested along with the degree rather than instead of it. Since the transcript is a separate document than the degree, it must also go through the process of attestation separately even when the degree has already been attested.
What is UAE Embassy transcript attestation, and why is it important?
Transcript attestation establishes that the university has verified the grade sheet that has been issued by the concerned university. For UAE work permits, universities require checking if the grade sheet reads the same as the attested degree, and any differences would lead to problems with the approval of the application.
Essential documents
- Original transcript issued by the university or board.
- Copy of attested degree wherever applicable
- Copy of CNIC
- Copy of your passport
Many universities issue transcripts in the slightly different format compared to the degree (for example, using a shorter name or different date format), and such discrepancy results in the application being rejected when it is submitted for the first time.
Stage 1: Verification

Stage 2: HEC attestation
HEC attestation is typically required for issuance of university at the first stage to ensure the credential issuer and the license of the university.
Stage 3: MOFA attestation
Next the transcript gets attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which happens before any foreign embassy accepts the document.
Stage 4: UAE Embassy attestation
The last stage is getting the document attested by the UAE Embassy. At this point, both the transcript and the attested degree become valid for use in the UAE.
